How To Learn Magick Online

Information
See the"'s Guide to the "There's a nexus which will
allow you to scout out your own torrent of information overload:
elists with which to pelt your ebox, ftp sites to swim in until you overload your memory-quota, and Usenet groups to overload your
newsreader. The problem is not access to information any more (at
least not once one has oriented and this doesn't take much time
), it is sorting that in which we can find value from that in which we
cannot. { http://www.hollyfeld.org/magi }

Authority
A great part of the problem is that what's 'authoritative' is somewhat relative to the individual who is doing the review. There are emotional and imaginative approaches, dry and intellectual affairs, those based on not much experience, those based entirely on it, those who prefer their magick in armchairs, those who prefer it in Hell, in Heaven, in Space, in the Dirt, some with connections to organizations (covens, lodges, grottos, pronaos, churches, temples, etc.), some to traditions (lineages, sects, etc.) and some way out there in weirdsville-whoknowswhere.

Thoughts
The first step in determining 'authoritativeness' is to look INWARD.
What sorts of questions do you find valuable to contemplate? Are they pragmatic (how do I do X?), theoretical (what does X mean?), ethical (when is it bad to do X?), or some combination of these? If YOU were devising a test for aspirants (don't bother that you may be one
yourself
), what questions would you put on this test (don't worry if you don't know answers!)? Making up the test will assist you in
beginning a comparison of knowledge-bases with others in the occult community online or off. Continue to look at these questions. Watch how your responses change as you meet people who approach the questions from different places. Add to that list of questions and restructure them as you proceed in your self-education.

Tastes
The second step in determining 'authoritativeness' is to look INWARD.
What are your TASTES with regard to magical and occult subjects and practices? If you don't know, then EXPLORE! Find out what tastes
good. Do angels and bunnies and light just turn you on? How about
Alien Infestations from the Horrid Depths of Space? Strange words
and weird mathematics? Just swimming in cool ponds during autumn?
There are many many different approaches to magick, even religious
ones! (see Islam/Sufism or the spate of repressed forums ostensibly dedicated to a discussion of "Christian Magick"). Explore as many
as suits your taste. Sometimes settling for what comes first is not the best means of attaining any goals you may have.

Activity
The third step in determining 'authoritativeness' is to EXPERIENCE.
Do things. Try out things and above all, FAIL MISERABLY. The failure is as important as is the success. The two are ultimately a product of warped thinking anyway. *Do things*, as the alt.magick.chaos people love to say. Socrates said that the unexamined life is not worth
living. It may be equally true that the UNEXPERIENCED life is not
worth living. Be imaginative. Fly by the seat of your pants.
Take risks. Do the FORBIDDEN.

Reflection
The fourth step in determining 'authoritativeness' is to REFLECT.
See what people say in their words/actions/expressions which seems to conform to your experience of the world. When you can get a 'fix'
on someone and you LIKE what they are saying, then compare these people with others who may qualify in a similar way. Engage others and draw from THEIR experience and reflection. Develop your own ideas as a
result of critical thought ('Question Authority, dammit!) and your own practice as a result of creative exploration ('Do something, dammit!).

Abstraction
The last step in determining 'authoritativeness' is to PROJECT. Just because someone says something about which you do not agree this does not make them idiots. They may have experience which you do not have and they could be representing a very important and oft-overlooked
reflection. It is for this reason that it is quite difficult to be sure just who is and who is not an asshole without substance. Along the path of wizardry we do not burn our bridges, even while we may place small signs near them which say 'Of Uncertain Value'.

Growth
The most important principle in determining 'authoritativeness' is to develop it within ourselves. Suckling at the teats of masters may be important at certain stages of our growth, yet eventually we must
break away from the nest, we must try out our wings, we must take
risks and become reservoirs of experience and wisdom ourselves. If
nothing else, through such exploits we may become humble.

afternotes in response to request for elaboration:
>Make it up as you go along. Create your own style. This is how the
>current paths appeared. Keep making it up, revising as you learn more
>and more.

get imaginative. Explore the length and breadth of religious
and magical disciplines and techniques. Visualization? It is quite
effective for those who don't have a need or resource for material tools.
Look at all the divination systems available: astrology, qabalah, tarot, runes, etc., etc. Look at the spiritualist supply stores: ouija, rapping tables, esp cards, etc., etc. Look at the ceremonialist's shoppes: wands, swords, incenses, candles, cauldrons, etc., etc. Look at the fetishist supply stores: dildos, floggers, clamps, needles, razors, etc. etc. Look at the primitive and modern religious practices: drums, rattles, bells, lights, chanting, spinning, singing, etc., etc.

Check into the resources on 'natural highs' and 'psychotropics'. Check into the billions of ways to become a sorceror (one who explores the realms of consciousness). Magick may find its way to you.

...

Limits? There is no limit to magick. It can infuse and encompass
your entire life experience. You can click into the Wave of the World and become the Great Fool-Magus that attains to the Great Work and sets the world arights. Refashion the Cosmos to your liking, become God, do the Hokey Pokey!

Thelema Pme Commentary Sad Naschirspirit Of The Sun

Thelema Pme Commentary Sad Naschirspirit Of The Sun Image
Sad Naschira- Spirit of the Sun.

The day prior I began preparing myself by making sure my elemental balance was as perfect as possible. Sun spirits can be quite disruptive to your energy system and so I wanted to make sure I would be alright afterwards. Also I knew this was going to be a long evocation because I wanted to be taught the cosmic letters from Sad Naschira's point of view. I prepared a little mini-book so I could quickly write down what he gave me. I reinforced my aura and made sure I spent several extra minutes meditating on the four divine virtues. I then loaded the room and my being with as much light energy as my imagination could muster. I spoke the cosmic letters in the planes as described previously after drawing Sad Naschira's sigil into the air three dimensionally (using my spirit-soul and body). I then re-loaded my aura with light energy and then projected my mind towards Sad Naschira's and called out to him through the aspect of omniconsciousness. With either the light substance I made or the fact that the moon was exceptionally large that night I literally felt the light of this spirit on my face and body. Later my wife even remarks that I looked as if I had a slight sun burn. The spirit greets me and I him and we begin.

J= Bardon mentions you created the arch-symbols in the primary language. What does this mean?

S= I crafted the primal symbols by using the cosmic letters. These are the symbols that manifest in all religions and systems that inspire the best within. I have encoded divine truth in all manifest symbols in order to create a higher evolution in mankind.

J=He also mentions that you are the Helmsman of all original ideas that have become reality, what are the original ideas and how do you work with them?

S= I cannot speak of all of the ideas for this would fill several books. However I work with the primary ideas of Power and Love-Father and Mother or as you know them the plus and minus, I use these two forces in various forms blended 1000 ways to inspire mankind. I make powers from beyond the spheres comprenhensible to man so they may be worked with. As time marches forward more powers become active and I craft new symbols to inspire that age to understand the true divine nature of the ALL.

J=Bardon gives your name as Selhube, but it was discovered the spirits of the Sun sphere had their names placed in a cipher.

S= Sad Nashira ( Sad as in the emotion and Na-sh-ear-Ah) is my name. The sigil is all one requires though.

**It is at this point I can feel his powerful waves of light entering through my protective aura. Slowly burning away my shield that I have built up-he does not do this in a cruel way, it is just his inherent power. However, I know I can handle a good deal more from working with other spirits like this such as Ratziel and Metatron. So, I continue- knowing the clock has begun to tick. We then spend the next 45 minutes going over the cosmic letters. He shows me the exact symbolism within each and how to best call them forth. He also initiates me into a whole new level of Tattva magic I had no conception of as well as the cosmic letters. He even teaches me a deeper level of the electric and magnetic fluids. This spirit is a fantastic teacher, one that can be compared to a founder of some new school who really wants students to learn for the pure love of the information. He gladly shares whatever you are ready for. I can highly recommend this spirit for anyone prepared to handle his energies which are quite intense! If you need to understand occult symbolism and the true powers behind these symbols this is definitely the spirit to conjure and learn from.

At the end of the evocation I knew I had no more will left to hold his energy back AND meditate on his inner and outer aura. Already his light waves were burning into my mental and astral bodies as if I had been in the afternoon sun with no sunscreen or cloud cover. Also, the connection was getting quite garbled up. I had just enough will to thank him and return him to his sphere. I banished the energy in the room but it was still luminous on the astral near my mirror so I banished again. I then collapsed on my bed and used every ritual anchor and glyph I had to bring me back to a baseline. It took a few minutes but I got back to normal. I then left the room grabbed a cold Coke and my cigarettes. That's when my wife mentioned I looked sunburnt. I enjoyed the cool air outside and my cold Coke until I stopped having the little nervous energy shakes. I then had some chocolate and got online for a bit. It took a while before the energy was all normal through my system and when I went to bed I loaded my four regions with the elements to bring balance. I woke up a little grouchy the next day but I feel it was well worth th knowledge and power gained in trade.

Here is the image of Sad Naschira:

We now move into the sphere of Mars. Great mystery lies here since Bardon did not post sigils or powers related to these spirits. I am going to go through the names using Kabbalah and try to find one of interest.

Thelema Black Magic Goals

Thelema Black Magic Goals Image
Well I decided to take a little break for the New Year and go away for a week, just to relax and re-evaluate my goals and what I want to do this year.

When doing Black Magic it is important to to set goals for your self and have an understanding of where you wish to take your craft. Sure it can be fun blindly waking around just doing whatever you feel like, but in the end you need to focus your efforts if you want to master any black magic skill.

Witch Sabbath

This is why, at the start of the New Year, I will cast a cleansing spell. After cleansing myself I will take time for me (another important thing to do in black magic). Touch base with myself, and figure out what I desire in the coming year.

There are many roads in life, and in Black magic we believe that we can take any road we want. The choice is ours where we we wish to go.

A wooden path

When I was younger I use to go hiking in the mountains ( I still do but not as much). On some of those trips I would just blindly walk around and play in the forest. It was those times where I usually never made it past the base of the mountain. When I walked in with a goal to get to the top of the mountain, I would usually end my journey on top looking down on the city ( a beautiful site to behold).

Vancouver from Grouse mountain

Anyway my point is that no path is wrong. When I stayed at the bottom and ran around at the base, I had fun, but never accomplished getting to the top. When I set the goal of getting to the top I achieved what I wanted. Depending on what you want your outcome to be, your journey will be different.

With magickal abilities it is the same thing. If you want to excel in black magic, then you need to practice and be committed to learning your skills. Setting goals can help you stay on track and focused on your goals so that you get there faster.

When I set my goals I will alway start by taking time for me and just relaxing. I find that the business of life can sometimes overpower the internal voice so every now and then you need to silence all noise and listen to what your true self is telling you. I use Meditation for this. Meditation is a very very important thing in Black Magic as it helps you to get in touch with yourself and understand what your needs and wants are. Basically meditation provides you with a door to seek out your inner self and find out what you want.

After I have meditated and found out what I want I will them make a list of things that I want to have, or wish to do in the coming year. The important thing with making the list is to not let the "I can't do that attitude get in the way." When you write something down and you feel like you cannot do that, that is your mind putting a limitation on you. In Black Magic we must work to remove these limitations and believe in our own power.

Believe me these limitations can take time to break down. Some of them take years depending on what the limitation is. Just make the list and do not worry about anything.

When it comes to magic goals, after I have made the list of things I would enjoy learning about I will then read as much as I can on those topic, as well as meditate on the concept seeing what information I can derive from the spirit world. Which is usually a lot.

One last important piece on information. Only do things if you enjoy it. Do not do anything you hate just to impress other people. Do things for you! In Black Magic the outcome or attaining the goal is not the most important part.

Getting to the goal is not the most important part. The journey, hiking up the mountain and taking in all that is around me, is. Sure acheiving goals is great, but the jouney is where the lessons are learned and where the growth happens. It is also where all your exerpiences and memories take place. Do not stress yourself out about making mastering your goals. Enjoy the Journey and learn all you can from the experience.

magick

If you cannot have fun and enjoy the journey, then you will never be truely happen IF you ever reach your goal. Your magick will be stronger if you learn with enthusiasm and passion.

Happy Goal Setting,

Priestess Akelta
